The Nissan Rogue and the Toyota RAV4 are two of the most stylish and reliable SUVs on the road today. With their roomy interiors and smart safety features, they're both great fits for drivers in Homosassa Springs, Lecanto, and Citrus Hills, FL. To help you decide between the two, the team at Maus Nissan of Crystal River put together this 2020 Nissan Rogue vs. 2020 Toyota RAV4 comparison.

<<2020 NISSAN ROGUE REVIEW>>>

Passenger Space

The Nissan Rogue features comfortable seating for five people and lots of space to stretch out. With 105.8 cubic feet of passenger room, everyone will be able to relax. You'll find plenty of ways to kick back when you're behind the wheel with 41.6 inches of headroom and 43 inches of legroom. An 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat comes standard with lumbar support, too.

A power-adjustable driver's seat is also available in the Toyota RAV4, but it doesn't come standard on every trim level. It's also a little smaller inside with just 98.9 cubic feet of passenger space. Some drivers will notice the difference right away with only 37.7 inches of headroom and 41 inches of legroom up front in the RAV4.

Cargo Room

A capable SUV should also be able to carry lots of cargo. The Nissan Rogue is designed to fit all your bags and beach gear with 39.3 cubic feet of cargo room. You'll also be able to organize your things with the Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System. It lets you quickly create collapsible shelves and cargo dividers. A Motion Activated Liftgate is also available to help you load up the trunk when you've got your hands full. If you need to pack more, you can use the second-row folding seats to get up to 70 cubic feet of cargo room.

The Toyota RAV4 offers almost as much storage space, but it can't carry quite as much. The trunk features just 37.6 cubic feet of space. A hands-free liftgate is available, but there's no shelving or dividers, so your things made slide around while you drive. Folding second-row seats come standard, but you still can't load as much with 69.8 cubic feet of cargo room.

Safety Features

On top of offering a comfortable ride and convenient cargo room, the Nissan Rogue is built to help keep you safe. It comes with a pair of front air bags, seat-mounted front side air bags, and roof-mounted curtain air bags that cover both rows of seats.

It also offers tons of technology that can help prevent accidents. For example, a RearView Monitor comes standard to give you a better look at what's behind your vehicle when backing up. To give you more awareness during your drive, there's Nissan Safety Shield® 360. This system includes driver-assistance features, such as:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Rear Automatic Braking
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert

The Toyota RAV4 also features front, front side, and side curtain airbags. Plus, you'll get to check behind your SUV with a rear-view camera. Its Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 system comes standard and includes some similar features, but it doesn't include a Blind Spot Monitor.
