What is Nissan ProPILOT 2.0 Post

Ah, the open road. Thrilling, isn’t it? For some yes but if your road warrior mindset doesn’t last long, Nissan’s ProPILOT 2.0 has your back. Designed to optimize highway driving, this new technology interfaces with a vehicle’s navigation system to easily maneuver a predetermined route on designated roadways. Maus Nissan has the skinny on what makes ProPILOT 2.0 the next big thing.

This state-of-the-art technology system offers a combination of navigated highway driving with hands-off single lane driving functionality that makes what you learned in Driver’s Ed a thing of the past.

In order to activate this amazing system, drivers must first create a predefined travel route by setting their destination. Once the car enters the highway, navigated driving becomes available and can assist the driver on a multi-lane highway with passing, lane diversions and exiting. Now in certain driving scenarios, drivers may remove their hands from the wheel while driving in a given lane. A blue interior light and icon will signal that the ProPILOT Assist is ready to take over steering, acceleration, and braking. When the vehicle approaches a road divide or is able to pass a slower car, the system will estimate the time needed to branch off or pass based on the navigation system and its 360-degree sensing. Visual cues and intuitive audio prompts the driver to replace their hands and confirm the operations switch. Wild, huh?

Drive confidently with a suite of advanced technologies like 3D high-definition map data that gives structure information at the centimeter level, 360-degree sensing with cameras, sonar and radar sensors, a driver monitoring system and a meter display that provides real time information to the driver.

ProPILOT Park is the parking pièce de résistance. Watch your vehicle glide effortlessly into a parking spot with a touch of a button. The system maintains control while steering, accelerating, braking and finally parking the vehicle. But don’t worry, driver assistance technologies like automated emergency braking, blind spot intervention and lane departure warning come standard.
