In a distracted world, it’s more important than ever to drive a vehicle with technology that has your back. Meet the Nissan Safety 360. An all-encompassing safety suit for your Maus Nissan vehicle. This advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) offers technology that covers you from front to back.

The Safety Shield 360 consists of tools that monitor driver and vehicle behavior and road conditions. Through an array of visual and audible alerts, drivers will benefit from the swift and intuitive reactions that will reduce or eliminate potential collisions.

Six elements make up the Safety Shield 360. Blind spot warning detects when a vehicle enters the driver’s blind spot by using audible and visual alerts. The rear cross traffic warning alerts a driver when backing up if a vehicle approaches from out of sight. Lane departure warning signals when a driver drifts from a lane unintentionally. Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection uses forward-facing radar and cameras to track stationary items ahead. It gives the driver a visual warning when a potential collision could occur and if the driver does not react, automatically engages the brake to avoid or reduce collision impact. Rear automatic braking applies the brake if an object is detected while backing up. Automatic high beam headlights fluctuate between low and high beams to assist with late driving conditions.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) reports that vehicles with ADAS systems like Safety Shield 360 experience 22% less crashes due to cross-traffic warnings and the combination of rearview cameras and sensors reduces crashes by 42%.

Currently, this dynamic software comes standard on all 2020 and future versions of the Nissan Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Rogue Sport, Sentra and Titan and is available in the Altima, Armada, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue and Versa.
